Rehabilitate
Runway 14/32
A substantial pavement area of Runway 14/32, mainly the load bearing 50 foot keel section, is in poor and failed condition and in need of rehabilitation. Rehabilitation of Runway 14/32 will eliminate runway FOD and enhance safety and bring the runway up to standards.

Runway 14/32:
- Constructed in 1943-1944 measures 150’ x 5,927’
- Failed area covers an area measuring approx. 50’ x 3700’ to include intersections
- Cross wind runway used by general aviation aircraft
- Concrete pavement is consists of 6” and 7” PCC
- Runway is experiencing base failure and pavement breakage along the 50 foot keel section
- Requires constant sweeping to pickup FOD (concrete breakage)
Engineering plans and specifications are being prepared and are scheduled to bid by May or June 2007 ready to bid.
The City of Laredo requests an AIP Discretionary Grant during FY 2007 in the estimated amount of $6.0 million to rehabilitate Runway 14/32, to include electrical upgrades.
