Enact legislation that would allow Municipal Court Judges to expand the use of the $10 administrative dismissal fee presently being used for expired motor vehicle registration and expired motor vehicle inspection sticker cases.

The $10 administrative dismissal fee should be offered to Judges for use when a defendant has complied by correcting a violation in a minor case involving defective equipment, operating a motor vehicle with one license plate, and failure to change drivers’ license address. The administrative fee would allow additional revenue which can be used to offset the personnel expense required for processing this type of case.
