Volunteer Center
Purpose
To promote citizen participation in the expansion, enhancement,
and delivery of quality services to the community through
the concerted efforts of both city staff and volunteers.
The VIA (Volunteers in Action) - Laredo program seeks to
place area volunteers within city departments that can
use their assistance. The program is intended to link a large pool
of talented individuals
who will benefit the city of Laredo through participation
in a variety of functions such as clerical duties, neighborhood
clean-ups, recreational
activities, and many other community oriented endeavors.
Objectives
- To recruit and orient a pool of qualified volunteers
- Provide an opportunity for an to encourage citizen participation in city government
- Provide meaningful and challenging opportunities
- Provide volunteers with opportunity to share their knowledge and expertise with the City of Laredo
