BACKGROUND:

A pilot project for residential permit parking will be initiated early January 2003 to address parking concerns from citizens residing immediately adjacent to Shiloh Drive mainly north of the United High School Campus.  Between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, parking will be authorized for only those residents displaying a validated parking decal or visitor permit that will be issued by the Traffic Department.  This general area will be designated as Zone A and signs and parking decals will include the Zone designation. The Police Dept. will be enforcing the restricted parking areas and will have the authority to tow away those vehicles illegally parked in the designated permit parking only areas without the required parking permits. The Parking Division of the Traffic Dept. will be responsible for issuing parking permits to residents at no cost during the pilot project.  We propose to issue two parking permit decals per residence and a visitors tag during the pilot project.  Service vehicles will be allowed to park without any restrictions.   A public meeting was held Monday December 09, 2002 to inform residents about the residential permit parking pilot project.
