Information:
The Laredo Fire Department Fire Service and Emergency
Medical Service Program reflect the needs of the community for careers in the
Fire Service and Emergency Medical Service.
The course curriculum is designed to prepare students for initial
career preparation and to further career development for those who are
currently certified in Fire and EMS. The curriculum offers students the
opportunity to receive a choice of numerous certifications, depending on
their specific needs. Some of the
programs are designed to prepare the student for Texas Commission on Fire
Protection or Texas Department of Health certification.
The Laredo Fire Department Fire/EMS Program
offers:

Courses for firefighters to maintain and upgrade career skills

Prepares students for employment both in Fire and EMS

Introduces Fire and EMS as career opportunities for high school
graduates
Tuition and
technical courses:
There
will be a filing fee of $50.00 per student for any course on the training
field given by any entity other than the Laredo Fire Dept.Training Division.
Emergency Medical Services and
related fields
Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Prerequisites:
Variable depending on level of training
required.

Description: This
custom-designed course uses American
Heart
Association (AHA) training standards and will address
Components
of infant, child, and/or adult situations, as desired
by
the contracting agency.

overview of medical terminology, body systems, principles of patient
assessment,
recognition of situations requiring intervention, and
appropriate
therapy for those conditions.

familiarization,
fire
fighter safety, ARFF communications, ARRF apparatus, extinguishing agents.
The
course content and curriculum follows NFPA-1003 Standards for Airport Firefighter
and
the Texas Commission on Fire Protection Curriculum Manual,
Chapter 2.

Fighter must successfully complete the comprehensive written examination and
practical
skill evaluation to meet the requirements of the course.

International Fire and Law Enforcement Training Center, I hereby release,
indemnify, and covenant not to sue the City of Laredo, Laredo Fire

SECURITY ACCOUNT NUMBER: Notice to Registrants
Section 7(b) of the Privacy Act of 1974 (5 U.S.C.
552a) requires that when any federal, state, or local government agency requests an individual to disclose his or
her social security account number (SSAN), that any individual must be
advised whether that disclosure is mandatory or voluntary, by what statutory
or other authority the number is solicited and what uses will be made of it. Accordingly, all registrants for the Laredo
International Fire and Law Enforcement Training Center courses are advised
that disclosure of one’s SSAN is required as a condition of being admitted
into the Laredo International Fire and Law Enforcement Training Center
courses, in view of the practical administrative Difficulties which would be
encountered in maintaining adequate student records without continued use of
the SSAN. The SSAN is used to verify
the identity of the student in order to record necessary data accurately. As
an identifier, the SSAN is used in such activities as: maintaining accurate
records of courses taken and successfully completed and verifying successful
completion of courses to supervisors and other agencies. Authority for requiring the disclosure of a
student’s SSAN is grounded on section 7 (a)(2) of the Privacy Act, which
provides that an agency may continue to require disclosure of an individual’s
SSAN as a condition of the granting of a right, benefit, or privilege
provided by law where the agency required this disclosure under statue or
regulation prior to January 1, 1975, in order to verify the identify of an identity of an individual. I have read and understand this material and
