Billing Options & Excemptions
The City of Laredo Utilities Department offers billing options to special populations that are either 65 years of age or older, receive a Social Security check, or a disability check. Individuals that meet anyon of these three criteria, and who have an active water service account with us, qualifies for our Affordability Program.

The Affordabililty Assistance Program allows qualifying customers to request a change to their water bill due dates. These customers may request their new due dates to be up to an additional five days from the date their Social Security or disability check is mailed to them. The due date would be due on the same day each month as opposed to regular billing due dates which vary slightly month to month. To request this change, customers will need to provide us with a copy of the Social Security or disability check letter that indicates thae date when the check will be mailed out to them.

In addition to this billing option, customers age 65 years and older can be exempted from late penalty fees. In order to optain this exemption, a customer must bring us a copy of their driver's license or picture I.D.. For more information on this program, please contact one of our Customer Service Representatives at (956) 727-6402.
