1.      Public hearing and introductory ordinance authorizing the issuance of City of Laredo, Texas Sports Venue Sales Tax Revenue Improvement and Refunding Bonds, Series 2005, in the principal amount of $34,520,000.00 to finance a Sports Venue Project for related infrastructure improvements to the multipurpose entertainment arena, for acquisition and construction of additional parking and refunding of the City’s Sports Venue Sales Tax Revenue Bonds, Series 2001; and ordaining other matters relating to the subject including authorizing a bond purchase agreement, Escrow agreement and official statement, and providing for the security of the bonds and the pledging of a sales tax and authorizing amendment to City’s Budget to appropriate such proceeds for purposes authorized herein.


V.                 MOTIONS


2.      Consideration to amend the existing multi-year contract with Crystal Group, Inc., a Texas Corporation from $78,450.00 up to $254,756.00 for Fiscal Year 2005, to include contractual obligations of the City of Laredo related to lighting and staging of the “Miss Texas USA Pageant. Funding is available in the Laredo Conventions and Visitors Bureau Budget.


3.      Motion to authorize the City Manager to complete the purchase of land to be used as Public Park Land and greenspace, said land to be purchased from United Independent School District Trustee, for and in consideration of the sum of forty-two thousand dollars ($42,000.00) with said land located within the city limits and being described as follows:


17.331 acres out of the One River Place Subdivision, Webb County, Texas, more particularly described as Tract “C” (Exhibit C) in that certain deed dated October 9, 1975, by and between J.C. Martin, III et. al., Grantors, and One River Place Subdivision Homeowners Association, Grantee, Recorded in Volume 498, at Page 652 et. seq. of the Deed Records of the County Clerk, Webb County, Texas, to which record reference is here made for all purposes.




The City Council hereby reserves the right to go into executive session at any time during this public meeting, if such is requested by the City Attorney or other legal counsel for the City, pursuant to his or her duty under Section 551.071(2) of the Government Code, to consult privately with his or her client on an item on the agenda, or on a matter arising out of such item.
