increasing the Texas Department of Health’s share of program income and expenditures
for the Immunization Action Plan Project budget of the City of Laredo Health
Department for the period of September 1, 2001, through August 31, 2002.

V. STAFF REPORT
4. Submission
of the Fiscal Year 2002-2003 Proposed Annual Budget as per City Charter
Article VI, Section 6.02, Submission of Budget,
which states that “Sixty (60) days before the end of the fiscal year, or any
time before that, the City Manager shall present to the Council, in an open public
meeting, after proper public notice, and having been placed on the Council
meeting agenda, a budget for the ensuing fiscal year with an accompanying
message,” and discussion related to the current and proposed budget.
Larry Dovalina, City Manager, made a
presentation before the Council.
Veronica Urbano, Acting Budget Director, gave a
brief overview of the budget process.

Larry Dovalina stated that the General Fund
Balance for the end of the fiscal year is $13,451,415.00.
The Mayor acknowledged that the submission of
the Fiscal year 2002-2003 Proposed Annual Budget was presented to the Council
in an open public meeting.
VI. EXECUTIVE SESSION
The City Council hereby reserves the right to go
into executive session at any time during this public meeting, if such is
requested by the City Attorney or other legal counsel for the City, pursuant to
his or her duty under Section 551.071(2) of the Government Code, to consult
privately with his or her client on an item on the agenda, or on a matter
arising out of such item.
