   I.  Call to Order

       With a quorum present Mayor Saul N. Ramirez, Jr., called the
       meeting to order.

 III.  Request for Executive Session of the City Council to be conducted
       pursuant to Section 551.074 of the Texas Government Code, to interview
       selected applicants for the position of City Manager of the City of
       Laredo, Texas.

       Lots were drawn to select how the candidates for the position of City
       Manager were to be interviewed.

                       1. Hollis V. Rotledge, Jr.
                       2. Florencio Pe¤a, III,
                       3. Gilbert T. Perales.

       Motion to go into Executive Session of the City Council to be conducted
       pursuant to Section 551.074 of the Texas Government Code, to interview
       selected applicants for the position of City Manager of the City of
       Laredo, Texas.

       Moved :  Cm. Perez
       Second:  Cm. Casso
       For:  8                          Against:  0         Abstain:  0

       After Executive Session Mayor Ramirez announced that no formal action
       was taken.


   V.  Possible action on the selection of a City Manager for the City of
       Laredo, Texas.

       Motion to appoint Florencio Pe¤a as the new City Manager with a maximum
       salary of $95,000.00 subject to a six (6) month evaluation and subject
       to terms and conditions negotiated on this date.

  VI.  Adjournment

       Motion to adjourn.
