       meeting to order.

  IV.  RESOLUTIONS

   2.  98-R-074  Canvassing the results of the May 8, 1998, recount of
                 the votes cast on the general election for the
                 position of District III Council Member held on May 2,
                 1998, pursuant to petition by Gerardo "Jerry" Vasquez
                 in accordance with the provisions and procedures of
                 the Texas Election Code 1.001 ET.SEQ.; approving the
                 results of the recount; and ordering a run-off
                 election for the District III City Council position.

                 Gustavo Guevara, Jr., City Secretary, read the results
                 of the recount as Follows:

                 Michael Landeck                  374        16.51 %
                 John C. Galo                     981        43.31  %
                 Victor M. Schunior               190        08.39 %
                 Leroy Morin                      345        15.23  %
                 Gerardo "Jerry" Vasquez          375        16.56 %

                Gustavo  Guevara, Jr., City Secretary, stated for the
                record that Mr. Vasquez would be refunded his $180
                deposit due to the fact that the Texas Election Code
                states that if the recount is in favor of the
                petitioner, then the full amount of the deposit is
                refunded.

   V.  ADJOURNMENT
