Starting August 1, 2011 all pets must be registrered by having them microchipped and the appropriate registration and the proper data
sumbmitted to the Health Department. This can be accomplished through:
- An authorized entity (participating veterinarian, pet shop, animal shelter) who may:
a. Register pets and send the information to the health department
b. Just microchip and send the person to the health deparment
c. Not register at all and send the person to the health deparmtment to register
- Cost for Registration = $5.00
- Cost for the microchip will vary depending on provider
The Health Department urges pet owners to have their pets registered now. The information gathered will enhance pet health verification and pet identification. |
